The x3 is smaller and lighter. The screen is brighter, and you have the option of getting integrated wireless. The x3 is the newer model, and is supposedly faster than the x5 at the same Mhz rating. Also, there is no CF slot on the x3.

and the x3 battery is lower capacity.
and the x3 backup battery is rechargable.
and the x3 sd slot is actually an sdio slot, while the x5's is only sd.

Yes, which means that the SD slot on the x5 can only be used for storage devices. :)

There is, but you have to buy a SDIO Wireless card (very expensive.) On top of that, if you keep your programs on an SD card, you have to take it out to use the wireless.

When I was buying the X5 the X3 had just come out I asked should I get the new one the guy from Dell said no, the X5 was far better,

That's a matter of opinion. The Dell clown should not have said that. If you don't require CF but would like a small unit that supports wifi then how is the X5 better than the X3i??

CF cards are cheaper. Besides that, I need a CF wired modem because our network admin won't allow wireless access. I love my X5.
