A Bit Confused*****

I receieved my axim 300 today. But am a bit confused with active sync. This is my first experience with pocket PC. Ive downloaded progams from the net they seem to run on the axim -but when I do a Hotsync, I mean active sync I don't see where the syncronised files are on the desktop.Am talking about files contacts and calender ,tasks etc. Where do they go and How do I view them?

By the way can some one give me step by step instructions on how to convert my cd to mp3 and download the music on my axim?

Help please.

Read through the User's Guide - that should answer most of your questions.

These all work with Outlook. I am going to assume since you aren't able to figure this out that you have been using Outlook Express for your default mail client. So let me say this.

Outlook Express is not Outlook...

Outlook came on your CD with the Ax. Install it and make it your default mail client. You can import your stuff over from outlook express.

I may be wrong here but I think activesync only works with Outlook.

If you get this accomplished and open Outlook up you should see tasks appointments etc. tabs

If you need more help read the manual again with this in mind and see if it makes more sense.

If by chance I am wrong here please post more info and we will try to help.....

I assume you already having the music file you want to transfer to the Axim on your PC that has ActiveSync installed.

The easiest way to do this is to copy that music file (MP3, WMA) to your "AXIM_name My Documents" folder that should be on your desktop. Then when you ActiveSync, it will be copied to your Axim and it will be inside the My Documents folder on the Axim.

Another way to do this is to use File Explorer. You should see the Axim listed as Mobile Device. You can double-click on Mobile Device and then create a new folder, say Music. Then you can copy the music file from your hard drive and then paste it inside the Music folder on Mobile Device.

If you need more detailed instructions, just reply back. :)

Ok, let's say you named your Axim "Pecos_Axim". On your desktop, you should have a "Pecos_Axim My Documents" folder.

1) Go to where your music file is stored on the computer, click on the file to highlight it, then click on Edit and select Copy.

2) Go back to your desktop and double-click on "Pecos_Axim My Documents" to open it. Then go to the Edit menu and select Paste.

That's it! :) You could get fancier (or more organized) and make a dedicated folder on the Axim just for music.
