Just got my Axim tody... Ordered it the 10th and it arrived the 18th.

Does anyone konw how to listen to audio through the headphone jack without the built-in speaker playing also? I can't seem to figure out how to shut off the speaker...

It should shut off automatically when you insert a plug into the socket.

By chance are you not using a stereo plug?

A mono plug is slightly different and will not always work well in a socket designed for stereo.

Incase your not sure, and are asking yourself how do I tell?

Look at the plug, if it is divided into 3 sections at the tip its a stereo plug, if its only 2 sections its mono.

Hope it helps, if not send it back....

It's definately not the plug. I've tried 6 plugs, all stereo, and the sound just gets quieter. Very annoying.

Definately call Dell. This is not normal. They will most likely be happy to send you a new unit.
