I want to synchronize my axim with both my machine at home at work, is that possible?

Yes. When you set up the partnership on the first machine, tell Activesync you will have multiple partnerships. Then the second machine, when first connected will be able to establish a partnership as well. When you sync, all three machines will end up with the same contact, to-do list, notes, calendar, etc., but only ONE will be able to sync email with the Ax.
