I am trying to link to my computer (running ME).
I have downloaded activesynch, from the MS web site, but while it dowloads it does not appear to install. What happens is that the dialog appears almost empty with no progress in the progress bar - I have given up, but perhaps it takes a long time - how long should it take I wonder? When I stop the installation it says are you sure you wnat to cancel the incomplete installation.
Is there any way of sorting this out - using an older version or something?
When linking the X5 to the cradle the finding new hardware dialog comes up and the system hangs.

When you click the link on Microsoft to download ActiveSync are you choosing to Save or Open? You want to save the file to your hard drive and then double click the saved file to run the install. It should no be trying to install while downloading.

Many thanks for your advice.
In fact I was doing the correct sequence. I have tried it on another machine also running ME and it has worked, which solves one problem as I can use that as the home machine.
I now have a problem with an IR keyboard which is probably best as another thread.
