Exclamation transfering data using IR port on the axim

I'm trying to transfer tunes (or data) from my axim to Samsung SGH-E105 using the IR ports available on the axim and the samsung (cell phone). On the Beam section of the Axim, it finds the IR from the SGH-E105 but when tryto transfer, it failed!!Does anybody know how to do use the IR ports?

Guys, I'm not sure about this, but I thought that "Beam" thingy was only used for beaming from pda-to-pda?

It could be that the phone in question uses a different infrared protocol other than the PPC native IrDA. It could be OBEX or something else. You might find that Conduits' PeaceMaker can manage this, either the 'lite' version or the shareware program. Another possibility might be to try receiving using File | >>>>> | Receive by infrared here - in TotalCommanderCE. I think it only works for files, not database entries such as Contacts, but might be worth a try. I've found that TotalCommanderCE communicated very, very nicely with my notebook PC using OBEX and a component of a free program called QuikBeam on the PC. I set up QuikBeam to automatically receive stuff, and whenever it's open I can just point my Axim at the notebook and send stuff without worrying about permissions on the PC. Great for when my kid's using the PC and doesn't want to be bugged, when I want to dump an installer package or something else to be unpacked/converted on the PC later.

I have beamed pictures and contacts to my sony ericcsson T68 with no problem. That was before I got by bluetooth card. I have sent pics and contacts to my x5 too. I tried music and my phone would not support it. I also have printed with ir with no problem too.

Thanks Gerrard the TotalCommanderCE program is awesome! Especially since its freeware and Mac friendly to install! I own a Mac so hence my happiness. But alas the program can´t send it to the phone it must be something with this phone only. Thanks for the help thus far.
