Still Confused******

I still am not able to play music on my pda. Well am temporally using Windows 98( This aint my computer am in another country for a week); my PC at hame has on Windows XP so probably things will be a lot easier when I get home. But in the interim, how do I copy the music from a CD on windows 98 and,
Secondly, How do I store it the PDA.Step by Step Remember am using windows 98 for now.
Third, I need an headphone, can I buy ordinary head phones or even plug my PC speakers in my axim without causing damage?

Fourth, where can I get free themes for today, and can background themes be had for the entire pda and not just today?

I wait your reply

Use windows media player... It will "rip" and copy the songs to your Axim.

And for themes go to: http://www.pocketthemes.com/

They only have about 40,147 themes though, so it's doubtful you'll find anything you like. :D

Themes are only for the today screen. I don't think it would be possible to have backgrounds for the pda.

This is for making WMA files.
You have Windows Media Player on your PC? I have WMP-9, so this applies to that version.
Open WMP and look on the left edge of the window ... a little arrow tab ... open the fly-out menu.
Put in a CD and click on "copy to cd or device" and a list of tracks will appear in the left-hand pane with a checkbox for each. Sync the Axim.
At the top of the right-hand pane will be a white area listing the destination folder. Click on the drop down arrow and select your PPC My Documents or whatever.
Check the copy settings ... Tools, Options, Copy Music ... and move the quality slider all the way to the left. On the devices tab, select your CD player and click Properties, and choose digital copy mode.
Back at the main window, check the tracks you want to copy (that will fit) and with no tracks playing, hit the copy button at the upper right of the window.
After the transfer, go to the Axim and cut/paste the tracks to your memory card or whatever, and listen to them with headphones to check for quality. Re-do it if necessary 'til you're satisfied.

Any headphones with the small stereo plug will work, and I suppose you can even drive some powered speakers.
