How do you select multiple files?

I've never asked such a simple question in my life, but how do you select multiple files? I've tried dragging the stylus, but that doesn't seem to work. I can't find anything in the manual that addresses simply "housekeeping tasks". It feels like I'm learning Windows all over again.

If you are talking about within File Explorer then dragging the stylus should work. It requires a light touch, but that is the method you are supposed to use.

One thing to check is to make sure you don't have the input method set to Transcriber. If you do then the drag will just draw a line on your screen.

Thanks, That does work in Explorer, I just found out that does not work in Total Commander (from download section this site). I like the fact it's got zip built in, but I can find no help files.

In TotalCommander you can use the virtual keyboard the same way you do a real one. Select the first item you want. If you press shift on the keyboard and then select another file it will select all items between the two. If you use the ctl key instead and select an item you will only have the two items selected.

Glad someone else asked this question. Although, mine is slightly different..

I was aware of the dragging the stylus to select multiple files in a listing. However, how does one go about selecting multiple files that are non-contiguous in the listing? For example, files 1-4, file 7, and file 10 in a list of files.

In the PC world I simply hold the <Cntrl> key and click on each file I want to include. Obviously I can't do this on my Axim. Is there an easy way to do this?

Pmoto. See the answer above your post. Use the "ctl" key on the virtual keyboard just like you would on a physical keyboard. This works in Explorer as well as TotalCommander.

If you were looking for a way of doing this just with a stylus gesture (without using the virtual keyboard) then sorry...I don't know of one.

jda5id,

Thanks for the reply. The "ctl" method didn't seem to work in Resco Explorer 2003. However, after a little more research, I found that I didn't have the Single/Multi Selection option turned on. Once I enabled this option the "ctl" method works. Still a bit of pain since I typically have Transcriber as my default input method, but can live with it.
