I see you are brave one. How do you like Win7?

Hehe, I can also using Windows 7 RC x64 in combo with Ubuntu. Windows 7 is what Vista should have been. A lot stabler and much for functionality and speed.

Lenny likes to procrastinate. In my opinion, you should upgrade to his L11 version. Once L14 somes out, you can flash again.

Since you choose to go WM6.1, you do not need the activesync step. Therefore, no need for an XP pc. Windows 7 will work fine.

I will make a separate post with instructions to flash from WM5 A06 to WM6.1 Lenny L11. If you want to, you can follow those instructions to flash.

When I say brick, I mean you get an unbootable device. It occurs sometimes, usually if you let the Axim run out of battery during the flashing process (Therefore, put it on the cradle!). 99% of the time, it is fixable (Basically, just repeat the flashing process with some modification). The only time I ever had a purely unfixable Axim was a client's Axim that will not go into bootloader. Meaning the motherboard itself was broken. I doubt that will happen to you.

1. Since I assume you don't have anything on that Axim, you don't need to backup. If you do, you can just manually copy+paste personal files to your PC.

2. Find a suitable SD card (Not SDHC) that should be formatted with FAT32

3. Download the two files in this folder.

4. Copy these two files to your FAT32-formatted SD card.

5. To access the bootloader, follow these instructions.

6. After flashing, customize your own settings (Password, time zone, etc.)

7. You are good to go!

I'm starting doing this but I already have a problem. This 2 files have the same name. It wont let me paste them on a card, I can paste only one and the other needs to be renamed. Can I rename it or what should I do?

Hiya, if you look closely, the two files are called different things:

DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM61_L11EN.nb0
DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM61_L11EN_nb0.crc

In Win7, go to any explorer window. Tools-->Folder option-->"View" tab-->uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types". Try that.

The explaination should be working. What browser are you using? Try this, it is not a direct link.

I have a problem. When i did first step:
2. Press and hold the Power Button and Wi-Fi button (On the side)

3. While holding the two, poke the reset hole (On the back) ONCE

4. Once a screen pops up, release the Power button and Wi-Fi button
I got a screen that say :Update Failed-Image update failed. Please try later.

Before that I got a message for a secound that said no suitable image or something like that??

So, did it finish flashing? The "last message" you are talking about, is it "hold power+reset to hard reset"?

OMG, this is so GREAT! I cant describe how satisfied I am . johnhu_2005 thank you so much for this.
I even think that my touch screen works better:) I know that doesn't make seance maybe I'm still under impression:) After i did hard restart i got a menu and then it restarted by it self. After that restart picture was really bad, like when you don't have right drivers on PC. Then I did soft restart and I got this wonderful screen:) I will install some programs now, hope it will all be alright.

@johnhu_2005,
I was thinking on making a post on some programs and games with download rapidshare links. Can I do that on this site, I think maybe we all can make some good links to tested programs?

Thanks again man A LOT!!

We don't allow links for warez, etc. on this site. However, you are definitely welcome to share your findings on apps you are trying out.
