Yes, it is possible. However, if the spreadsheet is very complex, it may not convert well. When you move an excel spreadsheet over to your Axim, it will be converted into Pocket Excel format, so certain formatting options and formulas may not be available.

To move it over, sync with your computer. Choose the Explore option in Active Sync and then just copy and paste the excel file into what ever folder you want it in.

In my experience, you cannot save a file from the PC onto the PPC but you can certainly copy any file you have room for from the PC to the PPC. An Excel file will automatically be converted to the pocket Excel format (*.pxl)..

To copy files, make an ActiveSync connection, click on the Explore icon in AS on the PC and work your way to the proper folder. Then you can open another window on the PC to the folder containing the file and drag or cut and paste.

Welcome to aximsite, Maria Lank!

You are likely to be disappointed with pocket excel for any but the simplest files; I am. If so, try a program like spreadce (great!) or the long-awaited planmaker from softmaker (due out in beta any day now).

In ActiveSync you can designate if you want the excel file saved as *.xls or the default format.

Excel/ word

I have a similar problem with boh excel and word files.
I can remember seeing a third party program which will sort out saving word files from desktop to pocket pc- is this true?
Does anyone know what its called?

TextMaker will give you the majority of the functions of Word on your PPC. The developer, Softmaker, is also developing a program called PlanMaker that will do the same for Excel.
