Question ISP for net hookup?

I'm definitely a newbie and would like help with identifying an ISP that would enable me to hook up to the internet. I have the modem, so that's taken care of. Now...what's next? Thanks so much for your advice!

I believe any ISP that you're connecting with will do the trick(except maybe AOL - I've heard some stories about problems with them). You would set it up the same way, giving it the phone number to call and what your user name and password are.

What kind of modem are you using, CF wired? wireless?

Give us a bit more info and we'll be able to help better.

Good Luck!

I have been connecting without any problems using an AmbiCom 56K modem (on sale for about $29.99 at CompUSA with rebates), and my Eathlink ISP.

ISP

Thanks so much for your responses! I've an Ambicom 56K modem. Should I be downloading to the Axim any of the ISP's files to establish it on the Axim?

Thanks for your patience and your wisdom.:)

I can only speak to Earthlink, but no special downloads were necessary. What you need to do is set up your mobile connections to look for and to connect to your ISP. I believe that the Pocket PC 2002 OS is able to configure many of the necessary settings for the most common ISPs.

To help you to set up the device, you may want to download this free download from Microsoft:

http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pock...ds/connwiz.asp

The bottom line is that you shouldn't need to do anything fancy, aside from setting up your location and dialing rules and choosing telephone numbers for the device to call.

I hope this helps some.
