I am a pocket pc newbie and I am unable to synchronize the calendar, contacts, tasks, inbox, and notes. The ActiveSync screen shows "attention required" under the status column. How do I sync the previous items?

Tink, have you been able to successfully sync before? When I get the attention required warning it is usually because I have made changes to both the desktop and the ppc versions and it doesn't know which is the higher priority. Open the desktop version, check Options>Rules to see what you have told it to do with conflicts. Pick what you want it to do. "Device" is the Axim, "This computer" is the Desktop.
To sync previous items, on each type item on the Options>sync Options screen click on Settings and choose what you want for history.
Hope this helps.

I had the same problems. I uninstalled Active Sync, did a hard reset on the Axim, when it came on I renamed the device (I heard anything but the default name would give better results) reinstalled Active sync and got the same exact error message... BUT I re-cradled the device, clicked on the items it wouldn't install the first time and told it to sync and it did. It may be that simple for you... hope it is. Let us know where you are with this...

I had to reinstall Outlook on my desktop PC from Dell CD in order to be able to sync. I was getting error message "Cannot synchronize two items in calendar... Error number bla-bla-bla."

I can syncronize, however whenever I try to move in a mpeg file or install programs, my unit just disconnects. I can see the Axim in my desktops device manager and the drivers are the most current.
WTH is going on??
Any help most appreciated.

Some folks have had problems with large file transfers aborting. I think most of the problems have been tracked down to either firewall or USB hardware problems. USB Hubs are a problem, as are older USB ports. I have seen a couple of posts where getting new USB cards for the desktop solved these dropouts.
If you have firewall software, try disabling it. If not, you might think about a USB port upgrade.

Oh great ones,
my Axim sync problem is I can't seem to get my Contacts to sync.... here's what I get: Files synchronized
Contacts See Status on device
:(
The sync status says:
"Synchronize with Exchange Server
Errors: <date & time>"
Then I click on Errors and it says, "The connection failed due to missing server information ... blah, blah... Then, tap Advanced to verify that your user credentials are correct and try again. Error code: DEV_9"
I have Outlook installed on my computer, but don't use it for anything. Should I re-install it?
Also, on my main Sync Options tab there isn't a box to check for my contacts like all the other categories... something seems amiss.
I don't have my user's guide yet (don't ask) so I haven't been able to go through any troubleshooting except what's located on the MS ActiveSync Help menu.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
