Need help with Backup Battery

My Dell just said it needed to recharge the backup battery and it said to look at the manual to find instructions to do so. But when I look in the manual, it only shows how to replace the battery. Does anyone know how to recharge the backup?

You don't say which model you have.

If it's the X5 you need to replace it (CR2032). If it's the X3 just leave it on extended charging and it will recharge.

yeah I have the X5. Do I have to go through Dell to get a replacement? Or can I just check out a local Radio Shack?

Yep, local Radio Shack or camera store. It's a standard battery.

BUT!!!!!, i would check the voltage on a volt meter if you have one. The X5 seems like it is owned by the battery companies... It randomly tells you the backup battery is dead when it is not. So, check it, if it is less than 3V, replace it, its a standard CR2032 button battery and they are something like 1.50 at radio shack (where i live)
