How do I save an Excel document from my PC into my Axim? Does it go into the Excel program on the Axim or can I put it into Notes or somewhere else.

It doesn't want to work and is coming up with some error that the file is not recognized. I have Excel97.

Please help.

The excel file has to be converted to pocket excel (.pxl) . If you use activesync to transfer the file it should be converted for you. If it is not change the convertion option in tools.

Can anyone help and provide step by step instructions? I've spent hours trying to get a document in excel on my pc into the Axim.

Do I go into Outlook and import or do I go through Activesync and do something. The file conversion is set up correctly. Does it have to do with naming the range of data to import? How do you do this? What is the destination? Inbox?

I even bought Pocket PC for Dummies and it doesn't explain it.

Frustrated.

Did you copy/move the excel file to your My pocketpc documents folder in your My Documents folder before synching? And I have no idea if the system supports Excel 97 conversions...

Open ActiveSync > Click Explore
Now drag-and-drop your excel file onto that windows.
ActiveSync will "convert" it to pocket excel.
Now open up Pocket Excel on your Axim and you'll see the file when you open it up. The other way is to browse with File Explorer on your Axim to your My Documents folder. You'll see the file there.

OK here you go.I use excel 97 so this should work for you.

1. Connect the axim to the pc with activesync.
2. Open the folder that contains the excel files you want on the axim.
3. Click on the explore icon on the pc active sink window.
4. Click on my pocket pc icon.
5. Click on the folder that you want to put the excel files in (My Documents,or whatever).
6. Now just drag the files or copy and paste from your excel source folder to your axim destination folder.
7. Your files will be converted to excel ppc format.
8. Open excel on the axim and you should see your files.

If this does not work, something else is wrong so let me know how it goes.

It worked! This is the best site and it has the best people in it. My problem was I didn't know what programs needed to be open and how to drag and drop the file.
