Downloading to PDA via Synching

Yep, I'm new and clueless...I know...so here's the question <gin>

When I get my PDA, I'm sure I'll want to access the internet for things at times (including possible software updates, antiviral updates (F-Secure) etc)).

Would placing the PDA in the cradle and synch'ing allow for those types of updates to occur, or do I need to get a LAN/MODEM accessory to do this (undesirable option).

You can connect to the internet via the craddle. At this point you cannot update and there is no need for virus protection ( as far as I know) even if you could it would have to be done by hand. It is not a PC.

When the Axim is docked, you can surf directly through the connected PC, or download stuff to the PC and then transfer it to the Axim like any regular file.
So far, I don't know of any updates for the OS, but aftermarket software is often updated by uninstalling the original and installing a newer version.
