Question Screen Protectors?

I read a thread yesterday, that made it sound like most of the Dell screen protectors cause a lot of bubbles and heartache.

I read another thread this morning, that was praising the Dell screen protectors (after the protective film was removed).

Here's my question, ... I've never had a PDA before, ... and am about to order an Axim. Should I go ahead and order the Dell protectors or choose something else. Are the WriteShields or something else better than the Dell protectors? If so, ... how much are they, and where can I get them?

Much thanks in advance.

I have the Dell Screen protectors, as I wanted the "official" product.

They work ok and do protect the screen. I have not had any real problems with bubbles, except once. Then I removed the screen and put it back on and the problem was gone.

Follow the instructions on this site in the FAQ sectoin on how to put them and you should be fine.

In my opinion, the Dell protectors are adequate, but they are not for everybody.
They are not designed for full cling contact like WriteShield, Brando, etc., so they tend to slide around a bit. When they do start to cling, the contact area looks slightly darker than the adjacent areas, with tiny little color bands like an oil slick. The Dell film has small holes burned or poked in it in a regular pattern, apparently to inhibit full contact, but it results in what looks like round air bubbles after it starts to cling.
More worrysome for me was the chance of getting grit under the semi-loose protector and making like sandpaper.

Since the full-cling type prevents this ... and has a long life expectancy ... they were preferable for me. There is no adhesive involved, so there are no problems with any residue on the screen.

WrtieShields and Brandos

First off, ... excuse me for asking the stupid questions, ... like I mentioned this will be my first PDA.

Which screen protector do you like the best, ... WriteShield or Brando? How much $$ are we talking about, ... and where can I get them?

Will they come in a size applicable to the Axim, ... or will I need to do the "measure and cut" thing?

Much thanks in advance.
