Deleting partnerships?

I had my Axim set up to sync at home and at work. Every now and then ActiveSync would tell me I was a Guest, and so I had to set up new partnerships. Well, I ended up with several partnerships and would like to start over, with one called Home and one called Work. But I am really having a difficult time wiping out these partnerships on the actual Axim...

I have gone to ActiveSync on both computers and deleted all partnerships. I also went to C:\Documents and settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Profiles and deleted all of the profiles I could find on both computers.

I then plugged in my Axim, and went to set up a new partnership, one of my old names for the partnership comes up (namely Home2) even though I have supposedly deleted it.

My question for anyone that feels like answering it, is Is there something on the actual Axim that is saving my partnership names? I do know how to create two partnerships, and had it working at one time... But I have no idea what happened to mess it all up!

Activesync will name the partnership after the device name found in >settings>system>about> device id. If you have not renamed it then it may still be reading it as home2

Wow, thank you! Such a simple thing, and it was causing me so much aggravation!

Any ideas as to why my device (or computers) would make me create new partnerships when they were fine when I last shutdown? That's probably a harder question, since I have no idea what I did before shutting down :-)

Deleting partnerships?

Linda, sorry I don't have an answer for you. But I am also in the same boat as you. I have been trying to sync between work and home and have also been having the same problem. I am glad you posted the question and I will be watching your thread with much interest. Thanks!

if you are comfortable editing the registry:
in Win XP, (close all programs including ActiveSync) go to Start|Run, type regedit,

go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\Partners, and delete all the partnerships. (mine for instance, has two, my ax and a guest). you might want to reboot for good measure, then try sync-ing again.

that has worked for me in the past
