How do you know? James doesn't give any indication of why he's asking. He may have an X3 and have
no CF slot.
James, the main difference between a CF-I and -II are the thickness of the card. Type II cards are 5mm thick while type Is are 3mm. Thus, as Astounded indicated, a type II slot can hold either type while a type I can only hold a type I (since a 5mm card will not fit into a 3mm slot). If you have an X5, you
do have a type II slot and any card will work.
