Moving Themes from PC...How?

This may be a dumb question but I've looked all over and can't quite find the answer.

I downloaded Theme Generator (power toys) and some themes from M$ site. My Ax is all synced up and ready to go. I have opened ActiveSyn>Explore>Mobile Device>My Pocket PC>My Device Themes and there are about 8 themes I've generated.

Now, how in the world do I get them to move from my PC to my Ax? I've synced stuff before so I'm not a total newbie to this, but I can't figure out a way to move or copy those themes to my Ax. I've looked on the Ax and some other themes are there, but not the others I downloaded from M$ and a few I created from my own .jpgs.

I've RTFM and the sync help...but not working for me. I am new to Pocket PC stuff and have downloaded a bunch of games, but just cannot figure out how to move stuff to Ax from PC.

Slow and step by step please...remember I really don't know what I'm doing here!!!

Thanks to anyone who can help and will spend the time doing so!

I should add that my .tsk files are in Mobile Device folder on PC. I click on syncronize and it says 'No Offline items to syncronize'. Maybe I'm in the wrong place.....?

Theme Generator should automatically transfer themes to the Axim. Double-click the theme file on you desktop/laptop and Theme Generator should open the file. Keep clicking "next" until you get to the screen to save the file. There should be a check box to save the theme to the device (PPC). Ensure it is checked and save.

Another way to move the theme file is to open "My Computer" on your desktop/laptop and open the "Mobile Device" icon (with the Axim connected). Drag or paste the theme file to the "My Pocket PC" folder or the "Windows" folder within "My Pocket PC".

You theme file should now show up in Start>Settings>Today>Appearance.

Hope that helps...

Sandy, I just made a post on excel and it's almost the same (How to get Excel Document into Axim? ) Make sure you try theme switcher ( it comes with theme generator). There has also been a few posts on this, do a search.

If you do not have theme switcher installed, you have to put the theme files in the windows dir in order to select them from the today screen menu.

123 steps to moving data files to your Axim tutorial By Tom Keyes (me)

Ok, some things about the Pocket PC 2002 OS.
In order for the majority of programs out there to see files, they need to be in the "My Docuements" directory.

The easiest way I have found to manage files is by using my desktop computer. Have your Axim connected and Active Sync on.
Then you can do it 2 different ways.
Way 1 - Open the Active Sync window and push the Explore button (looks like a magnifying glass on a PDA) or do File Menu/Explore

Way 2 - Open My Computer. Double Click Mobile Device.

Ok, this should get us to the basically the same window.

Now doubleclick the My Pocket PC icon.
This will show you the entire file structure of your Axim.
Double Click the My Documents Folder. Now you can make folders inside of this using normal windows explorer commands, drag and drop files into here, etc and it will transfer them to your Axim.

Now what if you want to store your files on a Secure Digital Card or Compact Flash Card? Well, look for a SD Card (and I assume a CF Card, since I don't own a CF but I do own a SD) folder under the My Pocket PC icon. Double click that folder. Now, like I said, many programs can only see something under a My Documents folder, so make a My Documents folder and drag and drop the files into it.

There ya go, nice and simple. (For the most part) :crooked:
