Dual CF possible?

Is there an adapter to go from SD to CF? I know you can go the other way pretty easily, but want two CF slots. Can I do this--somehow?

Thx,

Troy

If such an adapter existed (I've never heard of one), it'd probably require an 4-bit SD I/O slot (which the Axim doesn't have).

I've seen them go the other way (SD/MMC in a CF card), but as others have said, I'm sure its not possible.

Bummer. . . Any recommendations on the best place to buy SD media at the cheapest prices then? I'd like to get either a 256 or 512 meg capacity.

Thanks,

Troy

Check out the Memory forum for the best prices. You'll find 512meg cards are more than triple the price of 256meg cards.

Troy, this is not a bummer. If they did make such a thing it would cost 50 to 100 bucks and man would it be ugly. Spend your money on a large sd card.

Well Sam, there is a good reason behind my request. I am planning to buy a CF host adapter card. See http://shop.store.yahoo.com/firewire...usb11hosa.html

With this adapter I believe I can hook up and external HD, like the IBM travelstar notebook drive.

If I had two CF slots, I could download digital images to a hard drive for mass storage.

With the SD it's still possible, but is a two step process. Fist copy content of CF card to SD, then plug in CF adapter card and HD and copy. Uses more battery pwr. too.

SD cards are also very pricey compared to CF cards.

It may be possible to buy a digital storage device like the "tripper" or imagetank and just hook this up to the PDA via the host adapter. Not all these unit/drives are formatted for FAT 32 and may not be reconized by the PDA. They also have their own pwr soucre, and I believe the Host adapter supplies it's own--could be trouble. Anyway, not sure how this is all going to work. I invite commets. . .

Thanks,

Troy
