I'm having sync problems....
This is about the fifth time that I have had this problem. Can anyone help?
I keep getting this sync error:
There was no response from your mobile device while checking out-of-date appointments.
Disconnect your device and try again. If problem persists, reset your device according to your manufacturer's documentation and sync again.
Well, I have reset this device alot of times with no success. I have tried to restore the device and no success there either. The only way that I can get this to work if I give it a hard reset. Then I lose all inforamtion and when I use the restore since I back up the system periodically it still gives me the same error.
Can anyone please help!

I am not sure I can be of any help, but here is a couple things I would check on your Axim.
First, is the date set correctly on both your PC and Axim? Don't know why it would matter, but the fact that it is having problems with out-of-date appointments makes me wonder if there is some sort of conflict in dates between the two systems.
Second, if you turn off (disable) syncing of your calendar does everything else sync correctly?

Re: sync problems
I did stop the appts. form syncing and now I get the same error but with contacts. The device is not responding. Boy I tried from removing the partnership and give it another name to stopping the appts. from syncing. When I removed the partnership and used another name it synced but the second time it gave me the same message all over again. Thanks for the reply!

I'm having the exact problem. This is annoying and time consuming. I didn't have this problem syncing my Visor.

Re: Sync problems
Even though I could not find a solution to this problem. I had to give it a hard boot and start all over again.
Just want to express my thanks to everyone that replied.

I too have had this problem about three times now. Each time I rebooted my desktop and took care of the problem right away. I use WinME.
It is a better thing to try first that hard reset the Axim. Give it a go sometime and see if that will work for you as well. Good luck.
Ciao,
Ron

Seems to be pretty common. Same symptoms are happening to me too. This is the third time, and it seem to be happening more quickly each time.
Mine only seems to occur while synching over wireless. The only way I've found to clear things up is to do a hard reset on the device ... not acceptible. Windows XP, active sync 3.6, outlook 2002.
Please post back here if anyone discovers the root of the problem or a better workaround ...

Will do! Wish someone did have a solution to this probelm.
I too have outlook 2002, activesync 3.6 and XP.
I really hate doing a hard reset all the time.
And yes, it is becoming more frequent!

After you hard reset, try using the axim for awhile before loading your backup. If everything works ok, you probably have a backup that is loading bad software or info on your axim. You should backup only when your sure everything is ok, or at least keep copys of backups so you can go back.

anyone solve this error message?
I am also getting this error message. I got it with windows xp on a sony computer, active sync 3.6, dell axim. We bought a new computer (for many reasons, but this was one) which is a Dell, and now I am STILL getting this error message. Does Dell have anything to say about this? My IPAQ never did this to me.

It's not a Dell problem, it's a Micro$oft problem. Read the M$ document that Brandy5 pointed to.

why only axim though?
If it's a microsoft problem, why does it only happen to axims? just curious, not doubting you're right.
