Terminal Services Client Problem

I am trying to connect to my computer at work from home using terminal services. I have an X30.

So far I can connect to my work VPN from home fine. I then start up terminal services client and enter the ip address of my work computer (192.168.xxx.xx).

The terminal services connection times out and then my VPN connection drops. I do not think my VPN connection is timing out...I left it connected doing nothing for about 10 minutes last night.

On the work firewall end, the log says: LCP terminated at peer's request.

I can make this connection (and do) successfully from my desktop and laptop at home, so I am pretty sure I have the right settings. I can browse the internet and my local network...just cannot get the darn TSC to work...

Any suggestions?

the axim may be logging on to your network differently then your desktop and laptop but i dont know exactly what to say

i guess if no one can help you can always try vnc which i know should work, but then thats a little different then terminal services as far as logging on and off your pc (you have to leave your pc logged in)

if you need help with vnc take a look at my vnc guide here at aximsite, (just search for "vnc guide")

Do you have some hints on how to speed up VNC? It seems to run signicantly slower than terminal services.

well, since vnc is self contained, yes it is slower, try using that Ultra VNC for the server that i give a link to at the end of that thread, that helps a little

you also can do things like remove wallpaper, and turn down the quality

i am sorry but besides that vnc is just slow :-(

I will try your suggestions. I am really just using it to submit and check on SAS jobs, so the speed is only an issue because I have the patience of my two year old!

Thanks for the help.
