Worried active sync menu item in pocket pc

I have just accidentally deleted the active sunc shortcut in the windows directory of the pocket pc (playing around...bugger) The icon does not show up in the program list. Active sync does fire up ok when I connect it via usb however to sync via the wireless adapter I need the icon. Can anyone help??

You deleted the icon, not the program, correct? If you PM me, I will send you my ActiveSync icon, and you can copy it to your \windows\StartMenu folder.

You just need the shortcut, not the icon. Create a new shortcut wherever you want it and make the target "repllog.exe /remote" (without the quotes).

Sorry, I meant to say shortcut (.lnk file). You could create one if you have a more advanced file explorer for WM 2003. The standard one cannot create shortcuts. Not sure if you can create shortcuts with TotalCommander, but I believe you can.

Wooch,

You are partly right. You can actually create a shortcut in the standard file explorer ('copy' the executable and 'paste as shortcut' in the folder where you want it) but soflie will not be able to add the /remote part of the command without a more advanced file manager. Total Commander will allow this.

Thanks Ike. I never noticed the "past as shortcut" option in the standard FE. But, as you said, there's no way to modify the params of the shortcut without and Enhanced FE. Jeez, you learn something new every day!! :)

Hi guys. Thanks heaps for your advice. I loaded up total commander, went to \windows\start menu and created a shortcut with replog.exe /remote however when I select the icon I get an error "cannot find'replog.exe /remote' or one of its components...? I have tried searching for the exe file but its not there. Yes active sync works ok when plugged in via usb. Also not sure what PM is but my email is stephen@soflie.com?

This is what the properties of the shortcut should look like:

soflie,
Sorry I misspelled the program name above. I've corrected it in my original post in case someone else with this problem finds the thread and doesn't read down this far. The executable should be in the Windows folder. Wooch, thanks for catching that.

ok wierd. I changed the .ink shortcut but it still came up with the same error. I have located the repllog.exe (and replog.ink) in windows so they are definitely there. When I click either of those all I get is the active sync connecting window (which attempts to connect) rather than the active sync start page (which has the options button etc).
