difference b/n WM2003SE and WM2003?

can someone explain the difference between WM2003SE and WM2003 on the X30/3i? Alot of people have been upset at Dell not offering an upgrade on the X3i. I'm debating on whether or not it's worth getting a refurb x3i at a really cheap price or just getting a mid x30.

The biggest deal is the native landscape support. In wm2003, you have to have 3rd party sofware to rotate the screen that requires you to reset everytime. With the x30 and wm2003se, it is native and can be hardmapped to a button, so simply pressing that button will rotate the screen to landscape mode(great for web browsing or spreadsheets).
Also, remember that w/ the x30 you will also be getting bluetooth.

ahh. I can see how that's convenient to have. How well does the third party software work for screen rotation anyways?

ya I'm aware of the BT... but as of right now I don't have any BT items.

By any chance is there a way to sync with a desktop using wifi?

^^Yes, you can sync via wifi, but I don't do it...and the 3PAs work ok for screen rotation, but waiting 30 seconds for a reset every time you want to switch would get annoying really quickly...

PIE has been greatly improved and messaging/inbox works better. There is also VGA support for devices that have it.

Actually, I'm running Nyditot version 4.04 on my X5 (under WM2003) and it only needs to soft reset when I first enable Nyditot. After the video driver is loaded, I can rotate the screen as often as necessary without a soft reset. I don't remember if I can resize w/o resetting, but I think so. :)

in regards to the post above... i had to soft reset the first time i switched the ppc to landscape or back to portrait now i don't have to reset at all... definitly thanks for the info... if you didn't post saying you could do it without soft reseting each time i would have never tried it... thanks again...

the only problem i have is my today screen looks jacked on that one side... it's like the today wallpaper wasn't built for landscapeis there anyway to fix that?
