Programs for the Axim Newbie

SO.. my axim is finally shipping.. and it should arrive tomorrow or monday i believe. i've been browsing around and i hate to ask this cause i know a lot of people have asked it. and i've heard answers before, but i just want to see if ppl can help again.

what programs are somewhat of a "must-have"? batterpack2003? pocket+? is there anything else anyone would truly recommend paying for as a first time user of a pocket pc? i'll be heading to mapopolis soon too to d/l that. what about ebooks? is there an ebook reader built in already? and divx and movies?

thanks in advance for all the answers ppl might give. i greatly appreciate all the help i can get.

Personally, I really like Pocket Facelift for customizing my today screen. If you like astronomy, then Taiyoukei is a must have.

I, too, am a spanky-new Axim 400 owner. I'm scarfing up everything I can on this site (*excellent site* BTW).

I'll be a student/learner for quite some time. I'll timidly install programs that others recommend only because I've spent a lifetime "reformatting" my PC harddrive due to poor programming bugs and such. So I'm curious to ask you and Raynne, since you're both recommending Pocket Facelift, should this fellow's issue have me concerned???

Thanks... first post :sigh: :p

To be perfectly honest, I have no idea. I installed it when I first got my Axim and liked it so much that I have never tried to delete it.

I love Battery Pack, it has been extremely useful. As well I like ICBar, a take off of wisbar.

If you want a great organizing program i recommend pocket informant, and if you want a great financial calculator try MortgageCalc.

All these I beleive can be gotten at handango.com, except maybe ICbar.

But they all should be pretty easy to find.

P.S. MortgageCalc and ICBar are freeware.

Just got my Axim a few days ago and so far my favorite piece of software has been Magic Button. I've been going for only free software so far because the Axim put too big a dent in my already hurting wallet.
