Normal to have programs in Program Files when choosing "Storage card" for install?

I installed all my software to "Storage card" but I still have ~10mb of stuff in my Program Files folder...for example, Pocket Mechanic has a folder created on my storage card but the actual files are in the Program files folder...several others are like that too...also, when I look at used memory I have like 30mb ram free but I would think installing everything I can to storage card would give me more free than that...is this normal?

Some programs install to the main memory no matter what you select. I know I've got a couple of games and misc apps that do that.

Ok...so the prog won't necessarily warn/force you to put it on the main memory when you select "Storage card"?

Did you uninstall them first?

Yep...I uninstalled first, erased any leftovers, and deleted registry entries...if someone has a moment, can you check the size of your program files folder? (those of you who try to put everything on your storage card)...thanks...

This is just the way the installers work, they will generally put some of the files in Main Memory. My experience has been that the executable gets put on the SD card, but some auxillary files get thrown into the \windows folder or a \program files\app folder. It's the way that the installation is coded, don't see a way around it . . .

Ok...I'll be ok with it but in the case of this new prog the .exe and all files are in Program files and only an empty folder...the interesting thing is the registry lists the program as being on the storage card...the shortcut/.exe is in program folders though...

You know what, I was assisting a developer with a new software app, and this was my argument, you couldn't install it on the SD card. He had to go back in and code it so that it could be installed to SD. It worked after his mods, so I recommend notifying the developer of this issue and see if he can modify the code so that it will install to SD.

Be careful with Pocket Mechanic. I should be installed in main memory. It is worthless to have it on the storage card when you may need Pocket Mechanic to diagnose that same storage card if you start having problems with it.
