Crappy Outlook, and I don't mean mine.
Is there any way i could sync up with a different e-mail program? I have outlook xp installed (only cause I had to), and yeah, sure, it works, but it's so bloody awful to have to use. It's not my default e-mail program and it's big and clumsy. I will continue to use it if I must, but is there some way to use another program?

If you've chosen to use a PocketPC PDA then you've chosen to use Outlook. There's more to it than just email - notes, tasks, calendar, contacts.
ActiveSync is predicated on Outlook.
I think you're just going to have to get used to it!

I thought the Axim came with outlook 2000. I like outlook 2000 much better than outlook xp.

There are other options available to sync with other PIM's by using a different syncing program. An example is Intellisync from Pumatech ( http://www.pumatech.com/is_desktop_main.html). There are also others available.

Depending on the type of e-mail account you currently have you may be able to bypass Outlook e-mail.
The option I have selected is to NOT sync my e-mail with Outlook. In fact, I don't sync my e-mail at all. Instead, I created an e-mail service to have my Axim send and receive e-mail directly from my POP/SMTP server.
This allows me to continue to use my favorite PC e-mail program, but still can send and receive e-mail using my Axim as well. I simply configured my Axim to POP the same e-mail account as my PC does. In effect the Inbox on my Axim is the same as the one on my PC.

But do remember to configure both POP clients (Axim and PC) to leave email on the server, otherwise you'll end up with some of your mails on your Axim and some on your PC.

I see what you mean. I just discovered those settings. I'll try that. I'll also look at that other synching program. Thanks!
