What is the difference between saving in Main Memory and Built in Storage?

I am saying notes on Main memory. Should everything be saved on Built in storage?

What's the difference?

I don't think Built in storage is referring to an SD card is it?

Main Memory is faster, so keep it to install often used and/or system software. I think build-in storage is like an internal SD card, it's a bit slower than memory and I have read somewhere that the writing access is somewhat limited (not sure about it) I used it to store program and files not used often but that I wish to keep when I change the SD card. I install almost all on storage card unless note above and unless I want it to run fast.

are you saying that there is an internal SD card in my Dell X30?

Well the slot that was for an SD had a Dell card inside it, but I didn't think it was a storage card? If so, how big is it?

No that is just a fake card that you pulled out of the SD slot, just so nothin gets inside of it when you don't have SD card in it. The more main memory(RAM) you have free that faster your Axim will run. You are not going to be able to tell the difference when opening a program installed on it compared to installed on the main memory. So i would install everything on BIS but not stuff you plan to take out for a long long time because the BIS only has a certain amount of times you can copy and delete stuff off it, so if you put something in BIS keep it there. Best thing to do is get a SD card and store/install the programs on there if you don't want to put them in BIS.

Basically the main memory is RAM and Built-in Memory is ROM. The OS is installed in ROM and what you see is what is left. You can used it but I have seen Threads saying that some program won't install in ROM. Try it you 'll see.

Also when you install in ROM and have to hard reset the program there do not get deleted.

:-)
