Lotsa questions! I'll address a few, as far as it telling you there is no memory avaliable, I don't know why its says that but mine says it too and its wrong, go ahead and install it to the SD and it'll go, I think it just dosent know how much space is left so its defaulted to say none avaliable. Just keep track of it on your own.
I install *all* my programs to my SD card, journal bar, today launchers, etc, many of these will install the *required components in the windows folder anyway, mostly in .dll form, but those are small files usually so they dont waste too much space. Anything else and it will install it into a folder on your SD card, however dont be surprised to see a Folder with no contents inside it from time to time (this means it probably installed required components into the windows folder) anyway you can see where the majority of the install goes while watching the install file bar progress meter thing on the ppc screen.
Everything that came with the Dell like programs such as MS Word and Player are not in RAM they are in ROM (Read Only Memory) so that they cannot be deleted, they are "hard written" there, you can change them and stuff but a hard reset will bring them back, so yes you can transfer then to a SD card but it will not change the avaliabel space in ROM.
As far as how many cards you want thats up to you, I'd rather have one big card that I can install all my programs too and just leave it in there all the time and have a removale CF with media and wifi so that I can interchange those while still having all my program in my SD card.
Yes you can have media like picures and apps like picture viewers all on the same card, they are pretty easy to work with. If I were you I'd try to install most things to the SD card and leave the avaliabel memory on the Axim free for program use, the more memory avalible for the program to use on the Axim the better proformance you'll get.
hope that helped.
