Help!! ActiveSync not installing!!

ok so when i put in the disc the thing pops up and i click on start here and then go to install active sync. when i click on that then the box pops up saying to just open it. i hit ok and then the file download box pops up i press open and then nothing happens for a while. the setup box opens up after about 30 seconds. when it finally gets to 100% nothing happens after that. whats going wrong and how do i fix it.

nevermind i just tried it again and it worked. i didnt do anything but before when i had done i sat here for 5 minutes without anything happening so its not just me being stupid (i hope)
