I have played and played with my pocket pc trying to figure if .
You have a laptop on an existing network and enable your wireless connection (antenna) can you in essence connect to the internet with your pocket pc (dell axim with wireless) THROUGH the laptop?

Please help me out here. I am getting more and grey hair through this.

No, you can't use your wireless card as a bridge. How will it obtain an IP address? You can connect it to the wireless router, which would be a better option.

and not an expensive one.

The routers have gotten so cheap these days.

I remember when I paid almost $300 for one about 4 years ago.

LOL, yeah, they are pretty cheap now. You could even get away with a simple 802.11b router if you will only be using your Axim with it . . .

Worried

Thank you very much for the information. Unfortunatly, my place of business does not allow wireless routers. So, I was hoping I could or if there was a way to use my laptop as an access point.

Would it work if you gave the pocket (rocket) pc and ip address?
