I guess it all depends on the size of the files. I save all non-original programs to my SD card, unless it needs to be in main memory.

You can always remove them and reinstall somewhere else if you aren't happy with the end result.

This is my version. I experimented with different program location and the following works for me.

First before installing new program I did a backup and since I update it when things a working smoothly. I haven't update it in two weeks as it is where I want to be if I have to restore.

All programs except for DB files are on a SD card
DB files are in the main memory
Backup file is in the Built-in memory.
a 12 Mb dictionary file is in Built in Memory as well.

I hope it help you making a decision.

I am a total newb working on this question too and I like how anomandin layed it out.... however, what if one plans on using a lot of media on SD. Like movie and mp3 libraries. The players are all installed on other SDs!

Media Players should go to built-in storage on X30's unless you use a plugin from it on your today screen, main memory if you do. Anything that you want to see as a plugin on your today screen needs to be installed in main memory.

Valid point, I didn't come accross problems yet as I have only one SD card. If I add more cards to my collections I would definitly install any DB with the mother program on the same SD. It just make sence. For the Music and video it is on the SD card and the Software running them is local to the Axim (Built in storage)
