Question SmartMedia to CF Adapter

New to the Axim world - just received it one week ago. I have quite an investment in SmartMedia cards for my digital cam. Is there any adapter that will plug into my CF slot on the Axim so I can use my SmartMedia cards.

This is a great web-site - almost too much info for someone who is basically clueless when it comes to this stuff.

Thanks for the Help!!:D

There are at least 2 adapters that I know of, one from Pretec, and this one....

I will look around for info on the Pretec adapter.

Great info - many thanks. I know right now I only have SmartMedia - and am thinking - is there an adapter only for SmartMedia that would sit flush inside the Axim? Or is that asking for too much. Have you or anyone else seen a single-format adapter for SmartMedia only?

Or is SmartMedia on the way out, and really getting the flexibility of a 4 in 1 adapter the smarter way to go?

Hmmmm - I'm corn-fused - my normal state.

Thanks Again.

The Pretec adapter won't sit flush either from the looks of it. I got the 4in1 adapter for its flexibility, since I have a camera that uses smartmedia and a friend has a Sony. You will have to look at cost, size, etc. and see which is best for your needs.
