When you get to the part of the installation that asks if you want to install in the default directory, select no.

Then when it asks you where to install it, hit the down arrow to select SD card. Or CF, whatever you have installed.

Actually some programs just did not point me to the defoult directory, instead they were trying to install it on a local C drive of my laptop. Hence, I had to browse for the HandHeld, but I don't know how to get to the SD card when I choose the hand held as the install location.

I just went through this confusion a couple of days ago when I got my new Ax. During the install routine many programs will first ask to create a directory on your PC to run from. Just let them do it. After that the familar dialog will open and ask you if you want to install to the default location (this is where you select "NO" and will be allowed to browse for your SD card).

Hope that helps.

Dude is exactly right. Some programs want to extract some files etc. to your hard drive and then perform the installation from there. Just go ahead and let them 'install' to the C drive and then the installation will proceed with the dialogue box asking about the PPC default location. Usually you'll see some file extraction going on for a second before you get the PPC installation dialogue box. After you say 'no' you don't want the default location there is another couple of seconds before you get the browse option to choose your location.
