Installing software on my Axim?
OK, ... I'm sure this is an easy question for a non-newbie (unlike myself). I'm trying to install my first software package on my Axim. I've got the files loaded onto my desktop from the CD provided. I put that folder of documents in my folder which synchs over to my Axim. After synching, ...I can now see all of the files/folders on my Axim, ... but I can't open the program on my axim. It's almost like, I've got the files that make up the software, but I don't have the actual software to view the files?

Can somebody help me out with this process?

many of the software packages you install on your PC and then it loads it on your Axim.

If it is a CAB file, you just copy that to the Axim and open it in the File Explorer and it will install it.

Don't know what kind of file it is?
I don't know what kind of file it is, ... b/c I'm somewhat illiterate when it comes to this stuff. When I tried to open the .exe file on my Axim, ... I get some kind of error message that says it doesn't have the software to open it.

The software is from COSMI, ... so maybe that will clue somebody in to what I am doing wrong?

Actually a hard reset is not required. Just delete the folder you created on the Ax and move the files in the sync folder on the PC to somewhere else and delete that folder. Now go to where you put those files and run the install or setup program. It will create the files it needs and open Activesync. Activesync will ask if you want to install to the default location. Say no, and then pick from Built-In, Main Storage or your sd/cf card(s).

Most programs are designed to install that way. You get an executable file for the PC, then it creates the installation files for the AX, Activesync installs them and you are done.

Thanks for the advice, but...
I'm still having problems. I've tried what you suggested, ... but it doesn't open up ActiveSynch, ... which is why I'm having trouble getting it transferred to Axim and being able to utilize it there. Maybe there is somebody else has purchased some SWIFTware software from COMSI, ... who can fill me in.
