x30Mid playing movies ?
Question for everyone. I am thinking about buying a X30. I really only will use it for excel, calender and occassionally internet. I was thinking about going for the High and then thinking about saving a couple bucks. I have read that you can download movies to a SD and then play then on the PPC. Right? Well, would there be much of a difference between the 312 and 612 process? I know one is faster, but does it effect playback quality?

I wouldn't think there will be a different in video quality (smoothness) if you were to just watch the video and do nothing else in the background using the mid. I personally have the high and everything is smooth. Although i do prefer the high because it costs just a little more. For discount codes, look at the Hardware Discount forum in this site, u should find some codes that would help u.

And you don't necessarily have to move them to SD,I leave some on my main computer and watch them wirelessly, only drawback is battery usage
I have watched movies in power save mode (208 mhz) so I think the Mid should play them fine

Lets say I did download to the SD. About how much space does a avg. movie take up? I am clueless about this stuff. Well by know you've figured that out.
Thank you for the replies.

^^You can change the quality so it'll take up less space. You can fit a movie on a 128mb card but the quality will be worst then if you had the movie taking up 256mb...

Yep, I would say the MINIMUM size you want to consider is 256 MB. I'm finding SD cards are like hard drives, you can never have one that is too small...
Decent quality video will be ~60 to 80 MB per hour. Decent is relative though.
