hello all,

I'm totally new to PDA, I don't even got one for now but I'm planning to buy an Axim when I can find one in France..

one of the thing I would like to do with it is to read ebook; I have a lot of technical info and documentation I don't have time to read now, and I could read them on different moment with a PDA..

but what I want to know is : is this possible??
those documentations have been made to print on A4 paper size or to be viewed on "real" screen..
is it possible to read some things like that on a PDA with more than a simple word on the screen.
of course it can't be as pleasant than with a 17" screen but is it still something that I can do??

thanks and Happy New Year.. :D

Good question! It really depends on how well prepared the document is. If there are a lot of graphics or tables, it can be a challenge. However, if it is mostly just text, then it can be made to work pretty well. I use an add in from Microsoft to convert text to .lit files. You can download it here for Word 2000/2002.

It does a pretty good job on text, but it can't handle complex tables.

As far as readability on the screen, I find it easy to read. The pages are short, as you might expect, but it is readable. For example, a book I am reading was about 500 paperback pages, but on the PCA in .lit format is almost 2000 pages (screens).
