First you need to get your mail servers from juno.com. Then you need to go to Outlook.
Click on Tools, E-Mail Accounts. Then you need to add a new email account. It will ask for your email address, your username and password, and your incoming and outgoing mail server. It will probably ask you what type of email account you want to use. I would guess pop3.
Then first thing I would do is click send/receive in outlook and see if there are any errors. If there aren't any then, you can activesync your inbox in Outlook to your axim and you are off and running. If you get stuck with anything in outlook, click help, Microsoft Outlook Help, and then go to index and start typing in adding, you will immediately see add or remove email account, that is the tutorial to take you through the adding process.
Good Luck

Hey opu,
I am also trying to get my e-mail to my AX, but when I go to set up the account it gives me an error message.
It asks for: "My incoming mail server is a POP3 or IMAP" I have no idea what that means. Can you help me.
Thanks.

If you want to just sync your pc's inbox with the AXIM(ie won't be using a wireless card), you don't need to setup an email account on the axim. Open up active sync on your computer, go to tools->options, then go to sync options tab. Check the inbox option and hit ok, then sync. Mail will now be sent to your inbox on your axim. Click here for more info.

I understand that; however, the original question was "How do I set up outlook with hotmail?"
I created an account in outlook and it asks about the incoming mail server POP3 or IMAP. I don't know what this means.
Hope you can help

You won't be able to access hotmail from outlook 2000 or the axim without any additional software. Hotmail uses HTTP to deliver mail, which neither axim or outlook 2k support natively. To sync hotmail with the axim, you would need to use a program such as pocket hotmail. Outlook express and outlook xp include support for hotmail. There isn't an easy way to add hotmail support to outlook 2k.

you might want to consider Onemail available from Handango too.

...any suggestions on what to do if your inbox is checked (along w/ calendar and contacts) but it doesn't get synched? The error is the "unable to connect w/ current settings". However, the tasks are still synching just fine, so obviously the connection between Outlook and my axim is intact. Prior to today, I was able to synch inbox, calendar, etc., so I'm not sure what's going on. Any thoughts?

Same thing I would do with any microsoft product, reboot :p If that doesn't work, try reinstalling activesync

Should have known. Thanks. I tried the soft reset to no avail, then went full strength. That did the trick. Sure hope that's not an everyday event. I like establishing partnerships w/ my laptop and all, but it could get a bit much if it's an everyday deal!
Thanks again...

IMAP and missing folders?
In the INBOX settings on activesync I can only see the folders that are under "person folders" on outlook. I also have an IMAP connection with a seperate INBOX that does not appear in the activesync list so I never get my IMAP messages transfered to my axim.
Hope someone can help!!

Found a solution
OK looked around on this site a bit more and found a solution under:
Aximsite > Axim General Forums > PDA/AXIM Newbies > Outlook 2000 / ActiveSync Question.
