Worried about QVGA

Hi all!, I need to update my old HP jornada and i am looking for new models, so I found on the dell's site the x30 it seems to be a good machine. But I am a little confused because I saw the word QVGA. Only dell uses it? i haven't found this word in the moderns HP (i.e. HP 1930). maybe is the same? or is better than the resolutions on HP?
thanks for your help and grettings from Peru.

Welcome to aximsite!!:yeah:

QVGA referrs to the resolution on the device. This resolution is 320*240 or 240*320(cant remember which one). This resolution is basically the standard of pocket PCs. Newer, higher resolutioned PDAs are coming out with resolution named VGA. This resolution is 640*480. I hope I answered your question:approve:

QVGA stand for Quarter VGA. Since VGA is 640 by 480, cutting both axes in half leaves 320 by 240 (and since the default orientation is portrait, the Axim and most PocketPCs are 240 by 320).

So, it's VGA * 1/2 on the vertical and * 1/2 on the horizontal, or one QUARTER VGA.

Hope that clears things up.

Wouldn't QUARTER Vga be 1/4 of it?!?! Lol my Fusion-Reactor Thermo Nuclear Core System is still cooling down from that last game I just played at 31256980138096518 fps and 3510712-57 * 09857105970 resolution. The Hypercellion Celluloid Units are ready for more gaming though. Technology these days :D.

yup.

640x480 = 307200 pixels
320x240 = 76800 pixels

307200/76800 = 4 times the pixels
