Data after a hard reset

Hi Everyone,

I've been reading around on here for a while, but there's one thing I'm still unsure of when doing a hard reset. I realize you lose all your data, but if all my contacts and other stuff is in Outlook, won't it all just sync back when I hook it up to my PC and resync?

I've only installed about 3 programs so far, and I'm getting ready to delete 2 of them (I've only had the Axim a week so far).

Am I missing something here, or will it just be less 'painful' at this point, since all I would need to do is reinstall my one program and sync with my desktop? I want to make sure I'm not missing something before I do it.

FYI, the reason I'm going it is because I'm starting to get error messages when I use the Switcher program to close open programs. I get a message that says the program I'm trying to close is busy or not responding. This didn't happen until I installed BatteryPack, but when I uninstalled it the problem didn't go away.

Thanks,

Gary

Yes, once you re-establish sync after a hard-reset Outlook will reload all the pertinant data (Contacts, Calendar, ToDo's, Notes).

So in your case you'll only need to reload the one program, and also reset any preferences you may have changed from the default settings. Don't forget to reinstall the D-pad fix from Dell, too!

Did you try a soft reset? Much less painfull and some programs won't completley uninstall without it.

Yeah...I tried the soft reset. I was still getting the problem. I've noticed that since I've uninstalled CodeWallet Pro the problem seesm to have gone away. Guess I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks,

Gary
