Question Windows Media problem

I can't seem to be able to move mp3's to my SD card using Media Player. I know I can simply drag and drop using explorer, but I want Media player to re-encode for smaller file size. The problem only seem to occur with the SD card, and not if I try to copy to the built in memory. Any ideas?

You've most likely checked all the easy
answers right? ..
such as making sure the SD card does
not have the read only switch on?
enough free space?

Also a lot of people dont use this method,
but I do and it works great, WinAmp
has a built in Windows Media encoder plug-in,
I encoded about 80 songs in about 30 minutes
the songs all sound great and are around 1 MB
each.. I just set the output directory to my
SD Card reader with my SD card in it.... then
pop that card into my pda and away i go...

No the SD card is working fine otherwise, I can transfer files to it with explorer. I'm gonna try the winamp method You described, or go for the media encoder 9, but that only decodes one file at a time...

Thanx for the answer!

Its built in.... Just click on
Options -
Preferences -
Plug-ins (on the left)
- Out Put
- The plug in you want is
(Nullsoft WMA output plug-in)

click on configure to set the output directory...
then just load your playlist, make sure shuffle
and repeat are off... then click Play it will run through
and convert every song....

Works great for me..
