Getting rid of Program 'shortcuts'

I've put a couple of programs on my Dell and then removed them using Settings/System/Remove Programs. The programs have disappeared, but I still have icon shortcuts for them appearing on the Programs screen and on the Settings/Menus screen which gives the list of programs for the Start menu.

How do I delete these shortcuts?

Open file explorer, then tap and hold down on problem shortcut, menu will appear with "delete" as a menu item. Hit "delete", icon gone.

I use Resco File Exp, it shows files etc. in a format closer to windows. Everything more readable. It also makes this type of task easier.

Hmm - maybe I haven't understood you or maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can't display the shortcut files in File Explorer. Like i said, the program files themselves have gone, it's just that links to them - which I am assuming are shortcut files - still appear in a couple of folder and menus. I've looked in the Windows folders and sub folders through File explorer but can't find the files there. Weird!

Hang on! I spoke too soon - found them in a Windows sub folder (Start up I think) and have deleted them - thanks!
