I'm psyched that it's finally here - of course, there will be no real time to play with it until late tomorrow night :( but I wanted to get a few things straight before I do anything dumb...

I see the CD it comes with has Outlook 2000 and Pocket PC 2002. I already have Outlook 2000 on my computer, will it detect that and just load the PPC 2002 or is there something extra or different I will have to do so that it doesn't try to load Outlook again?

Also, if I plug the AC adaptor into the cradle (without it being plugged into the computer) will the Axim get a full charge or just a trickle charge? Or is the trickle charge I've heard talked about only when the cradle is not plugged into the AC outlet?

More questions later, I'm sure.

TIA,
Donna

Donna, you can plug either into the cradle or directly into the Axim, no difference. The cradle will not charge the Axim without the power plug. Trickle charge is what it does after the battery is topped off. Just a trickle to keep it full.

You don't need to reinstall Outlook. It will find it already installed. If it starts to install just cancel it. What you MUST install are the USB drivers. On the CDROM you should see a file in the root directory called wceusbsh.inf. Once the Axim is charged, follow the install instructions. If you connect fine, no problem. With the Axim in the cradle, look at your Device Manager on the desktop. You should have a device called Dell Axim USB Sync. If not, update the USB device driver and when asked, point to the wceusbsh.inf file on the CDROM. It might take a soft reset and a desktop reboot, but if you use the Dell drivers, it will connect fine.

Merry Christmas!
