Uninstall Program from Today Screen
I installed a program which placed itself on the today screen. When I attempt to uninstall it, it fails because a DLL is in use.

Since its on the today screen, its always running, so how can I uninstall it?

Anybody have experience with this one?

Regards.

Programs like that will usually have an "Uninstall" feature built-in. Open up the program and look for it...perhaps in a "Preferences" screen.

I have not heard of this before, but you might try "deactivating" the item on the Today screen prior to uninstalling.

To remove an item from the Today Screen tap Start-Settings-Today icon. From the Today settings screen tap on the Items tab and uncheck the item you want to remove from the Today screen.

You might also run the Switcher Bar to see if the program is actually running. If it is, use the Switcher Bar to Exit the program (not by tapping "X" because this doesn't actually close the program) then try to uninstall.

Go to the windows>start up> delete program from here

Do a soft reset. Go to add/remove under settings and remove. That might do the trick.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.

The one that worked was to go to "Start-Settings-Today". In addition, to unchecking the item, needed to press the "Options" button and there was an Uninstall button within that screen. This then allowed me to go to the "Setup-Remove Programs" and completely uninstall.
