Memory and app installs

New to Pocket PC
I have just installed a CF & SD cards.
Will I get any performance improvement by de-installing my apps
(Data on the run, e-wallet,golf) and putting them on a card?

1/Which card do I use for apps and which for dats i.e mp3?
2/What is the impact on sync backups?
I have installed by DB on the CF card and the sync works OK.
Do I need to do a manual back up of other files?

Cheers

Phil

If you have a lot of apps installed to Main, and if you often run a number of apps at a time, you may see some performance improvement by moving some of those apps to a storage card.

I would suggest installing apps to the SD card and data -- especially MP3s and the like -- to the CF card. That way, you can swap in CF peripherals in future without compromising the functionality of your Ax.

I've been installing all the apps I can on my SD 256 Meg card. I don't have a CF card... yet. Might get one in the future.

A couple of the apps... Journal Bar etc, are today screen apps. Which, I'm assuming, means that if I remove the card, the app will no longer work there. Is that a danger? Will my Axim be able to handle such a thing, or freeze up? I haven't tested it yet. :) I hoped, by buying a 256 Meg card, that I won't have need of another one anytime soon. :)

Hi, I have a 128 MB CF card. The problem is I can't seem to save any files to it. For instance, I can't seem to save a word or notes document directly to the CF card. Any help would be great.

Mike..the only thing I've been able to learn (as far as cards are concerned)...when you go to put the program/app on your card, you need to select "no" when it asks to save to the default location and then another option pops up to save to card....then select the card you want to save it to.

If this isn't the solution, then I don't know what to tell you because I'm trying to figure a lot of stuff out too :)

Hope you're enjoying your AX!!
