Rick,
That stuff you said to do doesn't really make any sense to me. I don't understand what it is you're trying to say. The hearts and reversi self-extract but that doesn't help me get them to the Axim. I successfully downloaded (from somewhere) a game called 'Snowed In'. I installed that w/ no problem to Axim and it appeared in the 'Games' folder w/ Solitaire. So, what's the malfunction w/ hearts and reversi??

I am running XP on my desktop (Dell Dim 8200) so where would I find 'explorer'? The only files I find are MSN explorer and IE explorer. I hate this OS...I liked DOS...at least I could find stuff and write batch files. Now I'm just a 'point and clicker'. I just want my hearts and reversi!!!!

File Explorer is an application on your Pocket PC. Using it, I navigated to "My Device\Program Files" to rename the Games directory. After the directory was renamed, I then on my PC, I ran the self-extracting exe that I downloaded from Microsoft and it pulled up the installation program which prompted me for the desired location etc.

It is really confusing why this should be necessary for a Microsoft game. Maybe they just want you to get so frustrated that you'll pay the $30 to get their whole game suite? ;)

I didn't have to do all that stuff. I just needed to select 'Open' instead of 'Save' and it downloaded and installed w/ no problems. I now have Hearts, Reversi, Snowed In, and Solitaire in my Games folder. I'm off to find more free games. Any recommendations??

OK. I wanted to download Macromedia Flash Player to my Axim.
The zip file seemed to download to my desktop just fine.
I then ran it and it asked me if I wanted to install on my Axim. I said yes.
I also downloaded a small calculator file to use with Flash.

But now I can't seem to find the Flash program, and when I click on the calculator file it says "There's no app associated with this file. Please run the app..." blah, blah

I've done every kind of search imaginable but can't find the program. But if I go to remove programs, it says it's there to remove.

Help!! :( :(

I need to chime in on this one also as a newbie. In the system32 folder in Windows XP home is an executable game - spider.exe. Is there a way to download this (or any) .exe file to the Axim?

Fix,
I learned in this forum that all the regular OS games & app's don't work on the PocketPC OS. You have to find new ones....
