currently have a library of .mp3 music files on my pc that i want to transfer to axim
noticed PocketMVP supports .ogg
should i continue creating .mp3 files are begin making .ogg?
i've read that .ogg may be next standard from .mp3
not sure what difference is between these formats

I would use whichever has the smallest file size.

Agreed. Space is the limiting factor on EVERYTHING involved with your Axim. Also look at the quality. Most CD music is encoded at aprrox. 128K, but you can knock that down to 96 or 64 for that matter and still get a good sound (and cut down on the space). So experiment with encoding your own music, and if MP3 sounds better than OGG depending on the quality, or vice versa, go with it!

Actually, 64-bit WMAs are bit smaller than 64-bit MP3s and are supposed to sound better. That is up to the individual listener... WinAmp is very good for re-encoding MP3s to WMA.

I did a size comparison last night between WMA and ogg... a whole album with wma encoded at the lowest bit rate was only about 12 MB, while the same album encoded ogg style at a quality of "5" was 24. I wasn't able to do a quality comparison, as my little axim is still on the UPS truck...

This is good to know. When you get your Axim please let us know if there is any difference in sound quality.
