I have a modem card Hawking CF690V 56KCF+Modem. I have made many unsuccessful attempts to make it work with my Axim. The modem would never call the number that I specify when programming the connection (I am trying to connect the Axim with my office PC, which also has a modem). As the instructions require, I enter the dialing number on the page that follows the one on which the modem is selected from the drop-down list. This however does not work: as if the modem does not see the number .
However, the Axim modem does dial a number if this number is entered in a very peculiar place. There is a page in Settings-Connections-Dialing Locations. On this page there is a box related to disabling call waiting. If I enter the phone number in this box, then the Axim’s modem would dial it, and would show that a connection with my office PC is established. Unfortunately this connection stays for only few seconds and then disappears. I understand that this is definitely not the way to establish modem connection.
Does anybody know what am I doing wrong so that Axim’s modem cannot dial the specified phone number when entered in the appropriate place?
