Might be a silly question, can I play the above movies files on my x50v?

I know I should try but hey I'm a newbie and I do not want to break it....

Trying to play software won't do any harm. The worse you would do is get a message that the format is not supported.

Not aware of a player that plays mov files on a PPC. Though you can convert mov files to avi. Here are the details.
