Worried Which one to use SD or CF

Quick question.

Any advice on what storage to use for what. Music, pictures on SD or compact flash?

Would make sence to store music etc on SD to free up the compact flash slot for wifi cards etc.

Any advice?:)

Arrow Your choice...

I have both and use both...but I do put all my music, photos and other files I use often on the SD, and put movies and backups on the CF, but it is really up to you.

:) Thanks Techboy

Makes sence to me to do that also, thats what i have been doing but just wondered if there was pros and cons on either storage device.

Question on the SD 256. I have a SD 128 and it seems really quirky, does weird things. I have seen several posts here relateing to problems with the SD 128. Do you have problems with the 256?

Thanks

Use SD cards for file storage (music, pictures, video, maps) and large program files (games).

Save your CF slot for non-storage devices such as modems, wireless LAN (WiFi), Bluetooth, or GPS CF cards.

No trouble...

I have not had any trouble with my SD or CF cards....you may want to format it, if you have not already done it.

Ahhh.. but what are the speed differences?

Specifically any information on the following:

-Read/Write Speed differences
-Read/Write power consumption
-Are CF cards problematic like so many of the SD cards?

:crooked: Since I am not going to be using WiFi or BlueTooth, I have been leaning towards a CF card: they're cheaper, and (from what I've read on this board) more reliable.

The CF slot on the axim is actually faster than the SD slot (4bit path vs 1bit path). It doesn't matter how fast the memory card is because the Axim slots can only transfer data at a certain speed. If you don't plan to get a WiFi card, Camera, modem, etc, go for the CF memory card. I have a Lexar, Sandisk and some generic CF card and a PNY SD card and I have no problems.
